Big bass have been caught from Northern New Jersey all the way to the North Shore of Massachusetts. As water temperatures rapidly rise and baitfish continue to move, big stripers will continue swimming north. But, as many fishermen who have encountered these bass this season can attest, stripers don’t eat all the time. In this Striper Season Update, Jimmy Fee and Kevin Blinkoff discuss finicky striped bass, what makes them finicky, and how to get them to bite.

Jp Yandell here up in Maine my go-to is the SP minnow but I work it differently more of a Husky jerk Style with a real jerk three times or 4 and then rest and I can fluctuate the speed on the SP minnow it seems to work. When they are finicky I do a slower one two real jerk and when they are aggressive I do a four five fast real jerk with a Wanted 2 second pause.
