Big stripers seem to be in no hurry to leave New Jersey, where several 50-pounders were caught again this week. But, as you’d expect for June, there are large bass moving into many more areas in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Long Island, and Massachusetts.

Chesapeake Bay Striper Report
Most of the big bass have left the bay, but there are a few stragglers left behind.
Delaware Bay Striper Report
Same story in the Delaware Bay, the large fish have made their way to the ocean and are feeding along the beaches and inlets in South Jersey.
New Jersey Striper Report
Giant stripers continue to feed on menhaden off the Central and Northern New Jersey coast. Water temperatures are right in the bass’ preferred range and bait is abundant, so the stripers have no reason to leave, at least not right now.

New York Striper Report
On Long Island, the large bass are still concentrated off the western end of the island, but fishermen expect them to move eastward out toward Montauk between now and the new moon. Keeper-sized fish are all around the island.
Most of the spawning in the Hudson is over, and the fish are heading down-river into the Raritan Bay and Long Island Sound.

Connecticut/Rhode Island Striper Report
More large fish are finding the bunker schools around the Connecticut Rivers while 40-plus pounders have been reported in Narragansett Bay this week, along with greater numbers of 30-plus-pounders.

Cape Cod/ Massachusetts Striper Report
There were several schools of migratory fish around Cape Cod this week. Some moved through the Canal into Cape Cod Bay while others seemed to swim around the back side, reaching the waters off Race Point.
Larger bass have made it as far as Boston, where they’ve stopped to feed on mackerel, herring, and other baitfish.

New Hampshire/Maine Striper Report
Plenty of stripers have reached New Hampshire and Maine, and they aren’t all schoolies. Fish as large as 35 inches have been reported, and the fishing seems to be improving with each tide!

Anyone catching in the Hingham/Quincy Bay areas? Back/Fore/Weir rivers….?
Thanks!
They are just everywhere right now chris, try the river at wollaston beach, they are always there on the outgoing tide.
Caught 6 schoolies at Nut Island last week. Still waiting for my first keeper size fish
Casco Bay tomorrow, fingers crossed.
Martin in Freeport
Martin – how did you make out in Casco Bay last week?
The great run of striped bass in Springs in the past when I was younger seems to be redeveloping again off the New Jersey coast June is always a prime month for huge stripers to be moving their way Northport as long as there’s no interference with a ton of blue fish out there then the striped bass fishing will be unappreciated. What’s the water temperatures get over 70 then the stripers will continue to move northward. But right now it looks like the low-to-mid 60 range up and down the beach upwelling is keeping the stripers in short along the beach there is tremendous schools of a bunker or otherwise known as swimming the bays and rivers along the coast. And a tremendous spawn of them continues. Most fish are being caught in on the ocean side of ranging anywhere from 20 lbs up to 50 maybe a little over. Not everyone catches a 50 pounder. You figured 50 in 50 lb depending upon what it had in its stomach.
The Bay Area California do we have any reports
Any fish in the raritan bay still or no?
Any fish still around by the hempstead/ northport area?
I was in Maine all week on vacation. I fished Wells beach one day got nothing seen a few seals. I fished Saco river in Camp Ellis with my buddy he caught a few in the teens but saw a few with fish not sure about any keepers. Fished Scarborough another day my buddy caught half dozen all in mid teens. We fished the beach all week at night in old orchard and we both had caught a dozen together over the week and biggest was 27 inches.
To Willy:
Fished Thomas Point, to far left side of parking area, follow path, Tom and I caught 4 schoolies. Keepers should appear soon. Thanks for asking.
